This 3-day Tuscany itinerary uses Florence as its base, so we'll start in the region's main city and the birthplace of the Renaissance. The city center is where most of the attractions that breathe art and culture are found, including two essential places, the Uffizi Gallery, one of the most important museums in the world, and the Accademia Gallery, where you can see Michelangelo's famous David, the ultimate symbol of the city.

While still in town, visit the Duomo Santa Maria del Fiore, the city's main cathedral, built in the late 13th century. Ponte Vecchio is another great symbol of the city, it crosses the river Arno and was built in the mid-1340s, making it the oldest stone bridge in Europe.

To end the day, in addition to having dinner in one of the canteens that serve good Florentine cuisine, you can enjoy the sunset on the Piazzale Michelangelo, which offers one of the most beautiful panoramic views of the city.

The second day is the time to discover beautiful cities close to Florence. Start with Pisa, the birthplace of none other than the physicist and astronomer Galileo Galilei, who carried out some of his most important experiments in the city.

In Pisa you will have free time to discover the monuments of Piazza dei Miracoli (Square of Miracles) where the most important religious monuments of the city are located. Among them the Duomo, the Battistero and the Camposanto (cemetery). Not to mention, of course, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, a gently sloping building that is the city's greatest symbol.

In the afternoon, spend a few hours exploring one of the most picturesque medieval towns in Tuscany, San Gimignano. On top of a hill, the village is perfect for a walk through its narrow cobbled streets, passing by small shops, squares, churches and its famous medieval towers, a symbol of power among the ancient nobles who inhabited the city.

Departing from the “city of a thousand towers”, head to beautiful Siena. Get lost in its cobblestone streets that look like labyrinths, full of charming houses.

Piazza del Campo is a famous square known for its unusual shell shape. The attraction is in the center of other old buildings, such as the Palazzo Comunale and the Torre del Mangia.

Third day in Tuscany: Cinque Terre

Our suggestion is to take advantage of your last day in Tuscany to discover the beautiful little towns nestled in the hills on the Ligurian coast, known as Cinque Terre. With one of the most beautiful views in Italy, which contrasts colorful buildings with a beautiful blue sea, you can visit Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso.

A tip is to start with the most distant city, which is Monterosso, and visit the villages in reverse order. Impressive views by land and sea, in addition to souvenir shops and good restaurants are some of the delights of the place.
