The municipality is crossed by seven rivers – Ponte de Pedra, Membeca, Verde, Sacre, Papagaio, Sucuruína and Cravarí – and is full of waterfalls and clear water wells, excellent for refreshing baths.

Located 391 km from Cuiabá, Campo Novo do Parecis is much sought after by divers, who practice autonomous diving and apnea in its crystal clear waters – a technique in which you dive without an oxygen cylinder. In addition, the rapids that form in some stretches of the rivers are perfect for canoeing and rafting.

The highlights of Campo Novo do Parecis are the Balneário Rio Verde, the Salto do Utiariti and the natural whirlpools of the Rio Papagaio. Another place to visit there is Chapadão Parecis, a transition area between the Cerrado and the Amazon rainforest.

Located in the southwest of Mato Grosso, the city of Primavera do Leste is another destination with crystal clear waters to visit in the state. Its main attraction is the Lagoa da Lua, better known as Lagoa Azul, which attracts divers from all over.

About 10 meters deep, the lagoon has extremely transparent waters, white sand bottom, submerged caves, rock formations, roots, stems, algae and abundant vegetation. An impressive aquatic scenery, which can also be explored by those who are not experienced in diving. There are instructors on site who help tourists to dive safely.

Lagoa Azul also has a natural pool that is great for bathing. Its waters have a pleasant temperature all year round, with an average of 26 degrees. It is 234 km from Cuiabá, inside Fazenda Onça Pintada and access to the lagoon is limited to 40 people per day.

Another place with crystal clear waters in Primavera do Leste, Lagoa Encantada is located on the banks of the Rio das Mortes and has a depth of 4 meters. In it, you can float to observe species such as tucunaré, traíra and cará.


Caceres Mato Grosso

Known as the point of sport fishing in Mato Grosso, the city of Cáceres is also a great destination for those who enjoy ecotourism. Bathed by several rivers, the city has several waterfalls, lakes and caves to explore.

Among the highlights of Cáceres is the Dolina Água Milagrosa. Located on a private farm, the incredible lagoon with waters sometimes turquoise blue, sometimes emerald green is beautiful. Great for bathing, it is accessed by an 850-meter trail from the farmhouse and a 150-step staircase. The site can be visited on the Day Use system, which includes floats in the lagoon, stand-up paddle boards, life jackets, meal and pool on the farm.

Another tour option in Cáceres is the ecological trails of Fazenda Gavião Real, which lead to impressive waterfalls, including the Urubu Rei Waterfall and the 7 Falls Waterfall. 

Chapada dos Guimaraes
