Logos Hope, a ship with more than 5,000 books on board, will dock in Santos, Rio de Janeiro, Vitória, Salvador and Belém

If you love books and live in Santos, Rio de Janeiro, Victory, Salvador or Belém get ready: the largest floating bookstore in the world will dock in these cities from the 23rd of August. It's about the ship Hope logos, a project maintained by a German Christian charity organization that offers affordable books in all ports where it passes.

Logos Hope travels the world to “share more knowledge, help and hope through literary experiences,” project director Pil-Hun Park told Veja magazine. The ship has welcomed more than 7 million visitors and has more than 400 volunteer crew members.

There will be more than 5,000 titles available that address different topics such as health, science, sports, gastronomy, arts, hobbies, language and Christian literature offered on board.

Literature on the high seas

Anyone who wants to visit the largest floating bookstore in the world should pay attention to the ship's itinerary and plan ahead. Logos Hope docks in Brazilian seas on August 23, at the port of Santos, in São Paulo, where it will stay until September 17.

Then he goes to the Rio de Janeiro where it will offer a lot of literature until the 8th of October. Salvador will receive a visit from the ship on October 24, which will be moored there until November 12. Finally, Belém will be the last Brazilian city to receive a visit from the ship, which will remain in the city until December 6th.

The ship also sets up a structure to receive book donations to continue offering books in the places where it sails. After all, nothing like helping this project to take more and more literature and knowledge across the seas, right?
