If you feel you have the symptoms and would like to be tested to see if you have contracted the disease, the City, through the Department of Health, will carry out itinerant tests at one more point from January 11th. the locations below are exclusively for testing points:

From 9 am to 5 pm

  • Fazenda do Rio Tavares community center, next to the Vereador Oscar Manoel da Conceição High School – near Tirio.

From 8:30 am to 4:00 pm

New testing point for people with symptoms:

People with symptoms of Covid-19 should be referred by the Health teams. Without this assessment and referral, people will not be tested. This is because only these teams can indicate the best moment for testing and patient management. The wrong time of test collection can generate a false negative.

  • Itinerant testing point at Terminal Cidade de Florianópolis (Terminal Velho).

In addition to this, there are four more places for testing patients with symptoms, in the North, South, Center and Continent. Altogether there are eight points available in the Capital.

THE Vacinometer website, from the City Hall, indicates that the city is, at the time of publication of this article, with High Potential Risk, that is, it is still necessary to pay attention to traditional methods of prevention, including the use of mask and alcohol to disinfect the hands, in addition to observing social distancing.

All adults 18 years of age and older who have received two doses of the Coronavac, AstraZeneca or Pfizer vaccine for more than four months can now go to a vaccination site for a booster shot. The health department sent letters to 295 municipalities in Santa Catarina to immediately adopt the new deadline for the application of booster doses.

The Ômicron variant proved to be highly transmissible and tends to be the main cause of new cases of Covid-19, according to the director of Health Surveillance of the State of Santa Catarina, Eduardo Macário. "To deal with the risk of a new wave of infection, people must have an immune system ready to protect themselves from severe forms of Covid-19," he said.

Macário also highlighted that those who have not yet taken their first dose need to do so as soon as possible. And those who did not complete the vaccination schedule, or who did not receive a booster within the deadline, need to complete immunizations to ensure broad protection.

The health department also recommends a booster dose for all individuals with immunization problems over the age of 18 who received three doses (the two basic doses and one additional dose) on the main schedule, followed by four months after receiving the last dose. The recommendation has not changed for people vaccinated by the vaccine generated by Janssen's laboratory. These should receive a second dose of the same vaccine for at least two months.

The City Hall informed the Canasvieiras Health Center that, as of January 5, the opening hours of this Health Center will be extended due to the significant increase in the need to care for patients with symptoms of Covid-19. The unit now works from Monday to Friday from 7 am to 10 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 1 pm to 10 pm.

In addition to this change, tents will be installed in several health centers and UPAs to support infrastructure in the fight against Covid-19. Chemical toilets and toilets will also be placed in all UPAs in the capital. Another step that is being taken is the expansion of the teams in some health posts and municipal UPAS to reduce the waiting time. If necessary, healthcare professionals will be notified of the selection process in place.

THE City Hall website also informs that patients who arrive at the North UPA with milder symptoms will be referred to the Canasvieiras Health Center. Thus, UPA health professionals are able to focus on the care of more severe and moderate patients. It also highlights how essential it is for the population to prevent itself even more against the disease.

Also follow the applications of the first doses for adolescents between 12 and 17 years, in addition to other age groups already qualified to receive the vaccine. The deadline determined for the state of Santa Catarina is according to that established by each manufacturer, with Coronavac with four weeks, Astrazeneca with 10 and Pfizer with eight weeks.

The following list of fixed posts was released by the ND+ website:

But the trick is to keep an eye out. The media in general reported that the city had six establishments fined for failure to comply with health rules to prevent the transmission of the coronavirus. The information was obtained directly from the director of Health Surveillance in the capital, Priscila dos Santos. This is important to be aware of, as there is a slight increase in cases in the early days of January, which is believed to be a consequence of year-end activities.
