Interrupted by coronavirus, exhibition about Ancient Egypt, on display at CCBB, in São Paulo, now offers online tour

Statues, sarcophagi and a mummy dated to 700 BC On display at Banco do Brasil Cultural Center (CCBB), in São Paulo, the exhibition Ancient Egypt: From Everyday to Eternity” had to be stopped due to the new coronavirus.  

With more than 170 pieces coming directly from Turin Egyptian Museum, the exhibition also passed through Rio de Janeiro if became a public phenomenon. Now who hasn't had a chance to check it out live different archaeological pieces that narrate some of the fascinating history and culture of Egypt, you can do so through an online tour.

In addition to part of the collection itself, the site also offers a course for those who want to delve into the history of the Ancient Egypt. There are also lectures and even a tour of the historic building that houses the CCBB in downtown São Paulo. Check out the attractions below:

Lecture with the exhibition curator

The CCBB provides a talk with Pieter Tjabbes, curator of the exhibition. Recorded on video, the content presents curiosities about the collection, behind the scenes of the exhibition and explanations about the Museo Egizio in Turin, Italy, considered the second largest in the world.

Official exhibition catalog

The CCBB released the official exhibition catalog, where it is possible to better understand all aspects of Egyptian civilization presented in the exhibition. In addition, there are also content aimed at children and educators.
