An unmissable program for anyone visiting the capital of Rio Grande do Norte, the famous buggy ride to Genipabu Beach passes through several beaches and dune fields that hide wonderful lagoons

upon arriving at Christmas, the tourist discovers that there is a huge variety of tours that go far beyond urban beaches and some city attractions. the capital of large northern river has easy access to other important tourist destinations of the state, and several agencies offer full-day tours to other beaches in the region.

THE Genipabu beach is one of the most famous in the region and is only 25 km from the center of Christmas, in the neighboring municipality of extreme. THE buggy roadmap lasts an average of 7 hours and passes through 8 other beaches (Praia da Redinha, Praia de Santa Rita, Praia Barra do Rio, Graçandu, Pitangui, Jacumã, Porto Mirim and Múriu), 3 lagoons (Genipabu, Pitangui and Jacumã), some fields dunes located close to the coast and an optional stop at christmas aquarium.

beyond the exciting dune buggy ride, the tour involves other activities that can be purchased separately, such as riding a dromedary, do skittish (snowboarding on the sand), aerobunda (zipline) and kamikaze (a kind of toboggan made of canvas where tourists go down on boards).

Road map

The tour is entirely dedicated to presenting the natural beauties of the first beaches on the north coast of the state and starts at 9 am. After passing in front of some beaches in the capital and crossing the emblematic Newton Navarro Bridge, the first stop is the Natal Aquarium and a quick stop at Praia da Redinha.

The space has some tanks with species of marine and river fish, and another, where tourists can interact with a 2-meter shark.

Then, the buggy heads towards a huge dune field to a viewpoint, where you can observe the view of the Genipabu Lagoon. From there, tourists are taken to the famous Genipabu beach, which has a 30-minute stop for walking and bathing and doing the ride with the dromedaries in the dunes that surround the coast.

The adventure continues towards Pitangui Lagoon, where you can bathe in an incredible lake of clear water, next to a great structure of bar and restaurant. The area also has some extra activities, including kayaks and pedal boats. Along the way, the buggys make a small stop and cross the Ceará-Mirim River in rustic rafts.

Then comes the most awaited part of the tour: the buggy tour “with emotion” on the mobile dunes of Genipabu, and believe me, the buggy drivers are not kidding when they ask the typical question of “with or without emotion?”. The vehicles slide between the gigantic ones, drawing screams from the tourists.

The next stop is at Jacumã Lagoon. At the attraction, you will have the option of taking the skibunda, aerobunda and kamikaze tours, or just relax, enjoying the paradisiacal scenery of the region, drinking a cashew caipirinha, accompanied by a lobster skewer.
