For those who don't know, the bridge is located on the Marginal do Rio Pinheiros and was inaugurated in May 2008. It cost more than R$ 200 million and was designed to withstand winds of up to 250 kilometers per hour. With almost 300 meters in length, it ended up being a city landmark that attracts the curious and engineering students.

A cable-stayed bridge has one or more towers (or posts), from which cables support the bridge deck. A distinctive feature is the cables or struts, which run directly from the tower to the deck, typically forming a fan pattern or a series of parallel lines. This is in contrast to the modern suspension bridge, where the cables supporting the deck are suspended vertically from the main cable, anchored at both ends of the bridge and passing between the towers. The cable-stayed bridge is ideal for longer spans than cantilever bridges and shorter spans than suspension bridges. This is the range within which cantilever bridges would quickly become heavier and suspension bridge cabling would be more expensive.

Cable-stayed bridges were being designed and built in the late 16th century, and the form saw widespread use in the late 19th century. Early examples, including the Brooklyn Bridge in the United States, often combined features of cable-stayed and suspension designs. Cable-stayed designs fell out of favor in the early 20th century, as longer spans were filled with pure suspension designs, and shorter ones using various systems constructed of reinforced concrete. It returned to prominence in the late 20th century, when the combination of new materials, larger construction machinery, and the need to replace older bridges all drove down the relative price of these projects.

It is in this landscape that we will find what we are looking for: a wheel 36 meters high overlooking the bridge. It's called grand love, which arrived in São Paulo on October 15th and stays until November 14th. For an hour and a half tour, the visitor will enjoy the largest transportable Ferris wheel in Latin America and a menu created and supervised by Julio Perinetto, part of the new generation of Brazilian chefs and a name that has already passed through famous culinary establishments in Europe and Brazil. .

The scenario couldn't be better. Food is served inside each of the 24 gondolas on the Ferris wheel. Of course, the customer doesn't have to go through that if he doesn't want to and dine calmly around the Grand Amour at one of the 40 tables spread over two different groups (25 of them with capacity for two people and 15 for four people).

The tour has three stages: starter, main course and dessert. It also comes with a welcome drink and two specials created by another renowned chef, Dalton Rangel. The menu comes with versions developed for those who have any type of dietary restriction or who have adhered to a vegan diet. An aerial show also complements the evening's menu, making the experience even more interesting.

Prices are a bit steep: R$ 650.00 for dinner at Grand Amour, R$ 500.00 for surrounding tables, R$190.00 for children at any table with a children's menu included for eight to twelve year olds. Parking is charged separately (R$40.00) to be paid together with the ticket purchase.

There are unconfirmed rumors that the attraction is set to return to town soon. But don't wait for the second round: embark on this adventure and have fun with the Ferris wheel in Sao Paulo.
