THE Colca Canyon is undoubtedly one of the most sought after attractions in the historic city of arequipa and one of the biggest tourist destinations in the Peru. Located in the province of Caylloma, northwest of arequipa, The Colca Canyon It is one of the biggest canyons in the country, with 4160 meters high.

THE Colca Canyon It is a geological formation that is more than ten million years old and became popular with the Andean condors, birds of gigantic dimensions that can exceed three meters between one wing and the other. The flight can be followed between 8 am and 10 am, period when the air currents are warm, facilitating the gliding flight in the surprising Colca Valley.

Surrounded by the Misti, Chachani and Pichu Pichu volcanoes, the Colca Valley (Colca Canyon) is formed by surprising natural landscapes, in which 14 villages are housed, represented by small churches that together are considered national heritage of the country. In addition to the famous observation of condors, it is possible to visit all these villages, which today survive mainly on agriculture, handicrafts and tourism. During the visit, tourists go to the imposing viewpoint of Cruz del Condor and shocking, where you can see the huge condors flying through the immense Colca Canyon.

The region also has hot springs with temperatures reaching up to 85°. Among the best known are the pools/thermal waters of the Calera, which are located in the vicinity of Chivay. The full-day tour starts at 3:00 am and ends at around 5:00 pm, with the early hours of the day for commuting only.

At the beginning of the tour, a stop is made in the village of Chivay for breakfast. Then the tour continues through several villages that date back to the colonial period and that stand out for their churches of Spanish architecture, and also for the residents of the region, who have their own clothes, dances and traditions.
