Disney closes parks and stores due to coronavirus outbreak and could impact US$ 1.2 billion. This is the first time the company has closed its parks

Following worldwide health recommendations, Disney will suspend its operations in some parks, among them are Downtown Disney (California), Disney Springs (Orlando) and in all stores in North America starting next Tuesday (17) . 

In addition, Walt Disney World Resorts and Disney's Vero Beach Resort will be temporarily closed beginning March 20. Another statement made by Disney also announced the closure of its parks in Orlando and Paris. In addition, the company has also suspended all departures from Disney Cruise Line starting on the 14th.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the company said, “While we have not been informed of any cases of Covid-19 at Disneyland Resort, we are only reviewing the guidelines of the California Governor’s Executive Order, which recommends suspending all events over 250 people”.

The Disney World park, which is located in Orlando, Florida, will temporarily close activities and will remain that way until the end of the month.

The Magic Kingdom park is certainly the most visited in the world. The venue received more than 20 million visitors in 2018, according to a report by Tea/Aecom.
