The Irish immigration law in force regulates that Brazilian citizens, holders of a national passport, traveling as a tourist for a period of up to 90 days do not need a visa to enter Ireland. Upon entering the country of destination, therefore, the tourist must also present himself to the immigration service, which is the only body authorized to allow or deny the entry of foreigners into Ireland. 

So, so that no problems happen on your arrival in the European country, it is prudent to separate some documents that may be requested by the immigration authorities.

It is recommended that Brazilian tourists bring the original documents listed below: 

  • Proof of accommodation for the period you intend to stay in Ireland (proof of hotel reservation or letter of invitation); 
  • Letter from the school proving your enrollment, which can be issued either by the school or by the exchange agency;
  • Health insurance or travel insurance (mandatory for entry); 
  • Proof of sufficient funds to stay for the intended period in the country, a minimum of 3000 euros is suggested;
  • Round trip ticket (if the person intends to make other trips and then return to Brazil, it is important to have the respective tickets in hand, including the one leaving Ireland on the proposed date); 
  • Passport valid for at least six months after the date you intend to leave Ireland;

If possible, it is also recommended that the original Portuguese documents be officially translated into English in order to assist the Irish authorities at the time of entry.

Students who choose to study abroad in Ireland and who have registered for an educational program or regular course lasting up to 90 days are also not required to issue a visa.
