The Pantanal biome is one of the largest wetlands on the planet. There are 150 thousand km² of area, which form a true ecological sanctuary with an infinity of wild animals, surprising landscapes and a multicolored sunset. There are about 2,000 species of plants and more than 1,000 species of animals, a diversity that attracts thousands of foreign tourists. To get to know this natural paradise, several activities are available, such as photographic safaris, horse and boat rides, animal observation, among others.
One of the main routes for those who practice ecotourism and adventure tourism is in the state of Tocantins. Jalapão is between the savannah and the caatinga and has a vegetation similar to the savannas, among the attractions are waterfalls, rivers with crystalline waters, dunes, plateaus and rock formations of varied colors and shapes.
The largest fluviomarine island in the world is located in Pará. Marajó Island is bathed by the Atlantic Ocean and the Amazon and Tocantins rivers and is divided into 12 municipalities dotted by forests, rivers, fields, mangroves and streams that form a perfect, almost intact scenario of the Amazon jungle.
Valley of the Moon
The Valley of the Moon in Chapada dos Veadeiros is famous for containing rock formations that resemble lunar craters, which hide small waterfalls, natural pools, holes and caves.
Located in the extreme north of Brazil, on the border with Guyana and Venezuela, Mount Roraima with its 2,739 meters is a legendary and mysterious place that fascinates explorers. As if the height were not enough, the place impresses with the shapes carved into the rocks and walls by the action of the winds in the middle of the Amazon savannas. Rivers, waterfalls, crystal sculptures and more than 400 species of bromeliads complete the landscape.
Serra da Capybara
Located in the southeast of the state of Piauí, the Serra da Capivara National Park occupies areas of the municipalities of São Raimundo Nonato, João Costa, Brejo do Piauí and Coronel José Dias. The park was created with motivations linked to the preservation of a specific environment and one of the most important prehistoric cultural heritages. The park received the title of Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
Alter do Chão
When it is low time and the waters of the Tapajós River subside, the famous beaches of the friendly village of Alter do Chão appear, the place has such a magical and different landscape, that it was affectionately nicknamed the “Brazilian Caribbean”.
Considered by many to be one of the most beautiful walks in the Chapada dos Guimarães, in Mato Grosso, the Aroe jari cave is the largest sandstone cave in Brazil. It is 1,550 m long, is extremely flat and has numerous waterfalls in the interior. Near the entrance, there is a spring that formed the Lagoa Azul, a natural pool with crystal blue water that is reflected on the walls of the cave.
An underground journey amidst the natural beauties is a guaranteed adventure for anyone visiting the Maquiné Cave, located in the city of Cordisburgo, 120 km from Belo Horizonte. The cave, discovered in 1825 by the farmer Joaquim Maria Maquiné, known as Seu Maquiné, is considered the cradle of Brazilian paleontology and has seven rooms with beautiful architectural forms, sculpted by the work of water over millennia.
The immensity of sand and hundreds of lagoons formed by rainwater make Lençois Maranhenses one of the most exotic places in the world. The city best known as a starting point to venture into this tropical desert is Barreirinhas, but if you want to enjoy the region further, the city of Santo Amaro and the villages of Betânia, Baixa Grande and Queimada dos Britos are the ideal places. for you to stay, since the municipalities are within the National Park.
The Hippie Village of Arembepe, in Bahia brings together a lot of rustic huts made with stones and covered with mud, a climate of freedom and detachment and several natural beauty with beaches, natural pools and lagoons. The place became known in the late 60's when hippies from all over the world chose the city as a temporary home. It was so successful that the venue hosted artists such as Janis Joplin, Mick Jagger, Roman Polanski and the Novos Baianos.
With an area of approximately 5.5 million km², the Amazon Forest is the main vegetation cover in Brazil, occupying 45% of our territory, in addition to spaces in nine more countries, being also the largest tropical forest in the world. The forest is also home to 225 indigenous tribes and one of the richest biodiversity in the world, some records and research reveal that in the Amazon Forest, there are approximately about 1,800 different species of birds, 2,500 of fish, 320 of mammals and dozens of species of reptiles, amphibians and insects.
