Christ the Redeemer received projection with the flags of the countries that are facing the pandemic of the new coronavirus
Christ the Redeemer is the main postcard of Rio de Janeiro and perhaps the country, it was fully illuminated with more than 150 flags of the countries that were affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
The ceremony took place last Wednesday (18), and was attended by Cardinal Dom Orani Tempesta, an archbishop who lives in Rio de Janeiro, and Father Omar Raposo, who holds the position of rector of the Christ the Redeemer Sanctuary.

Afterwards, maps of each continent and an image of the terrestrial globe were also placed. According to the creators, this was a way of showing solidarity with all parts of the world affected by the outbreak of the disease. Check out the full video:

In addition to the projections, the priest and the archbishop also prayed an Our Father while the hashtag #hree together. The campaign using the hashtag was launched by Pope Francis, and was projected in different languages.

The new coronavirus, responsible for the Covid-19 pandemic, has infected more than 210,000 people worldwide, of whom more than 8,750 have died.
China recorded 11 deaths and 13 new cases of Covid-19 infection in the last 24 hours, but only one is from Wuhan, all the other 12 are imported.
The outbreak began in China in December and has now spread to 170 countries and territories, prompting the World Health Organization to declare a pandemic situation.
