Learn how the pandemic is affecting air travel and individual airline policies
Even with the gradual opening of many countries to tourism, air travel in 2021 is still not back to normal. Faced with the scenario of uncertainties caused by the advance of the coronavirus, airlines had to adopt new rules and protocols so that passengers feel safer, and of course, that they respect what is required by the authorities.
Rule number one, both for domestic and international air travel, is to wear a protective mask. For now, the only national destination where the RT-PCR test is required is Fernando de Noronha. The Covid exam needs to be done within 48 hours before the trip and the negative report presented at the time of boarding.
In the case of international flights, for people who need to return or enter Brazil, they must present the negative/non-reactive RT-PCR test for covid-19, carried out up to 72 hours before boarding. The examination report must be shown to the airline at the time of check in along with the Traveler's Health Statement, that must be filled up to 72 hours before boarding.
However, there are entry restrictions that each country sets for travelers and they change frequently, especially for international air travel, so before buying a ticket, it is essential to check all the requirements required by the destination and the airline.
Check below the particularities of the main companies operating in Brazil:
