The National Land Transport Agency decreed the suspension of all international bus travel for 60 days.

to contain the advance of the new coronavirus (Covid-19) in Brazil, the ANTT (National Land Transport Agency) decreed the suspension of all international travel by bus. The measure was announced this Wednesday, March 18th, is valid for 60 days, and can be extended if necessary.

The action is valid for charter and semi-urban transport in the border region, carried out by Brazilian and foreign companies. Those who have already purchased tickets can request a refund or reschedule free of charge.

However, interstate bus operations, that is, within Brazil, will continue to operate, but will have fewer schedules available. “We will understand if there are delays. People are quitting working at every company out of fear of the coronavirus. And the lack of employees can occur in the bus companies as well, which will have to find replacements”, says a statement from ANTT.
