With that in mind, we prepared this 10 days itinerary cross country passing through Lisbon, Cascais, Sintra, Óbidos and Porto. It is worth noting that, between Óbidos and Porto, other cities can be visited, such as Águas da Rainha, Fátima, Coimbra and Águeda – but this will depend on the number of days you have to stay in the country and which attractions you intend to visit. Therefore, this route can be traveled by car or by combining bus and train – however, the car is the fastest option to travel between these cities.

1st day 

once in Lisbon, it's time to enjoy all that this amazing city has to offer. If you like to walk, it is worth exploring the central districts of the Portuguese capital on foot to be enchanted by every detail, but be prepared to face some slopes. 

start with Sao Jorge's Castle, built on the highest point of the city. Then, walk to the Sé de Lisboa, an imposing cathedral built in 1150. Go down admiring the buildings to the Commerce Square, the most important in Lisbon, in front of the Tagus River, and where the beautiful Triumphal Arch of Rua Augusta.  

Go up Rua da Prata until you reach the Santa Justa elevator and its 45 meters high, the best and most charming means of transport to travel from Rua de Santa Justa to Rua do Carmo. Stroll through the charming Chiado district and visit the Café A Brasileira, where the bronze statue of Fernando Pessoa is located. Enjoy and walk to Luís de Camões Square, where the statue in honor of the poet of “Os Lusíadas” is located.  

Finally, during the night, it is worth planning a dinner at the Time Out Market, in Cais do Sodré, a large gourmet market with several of the best restaurants in Lisbon. This is just the beginning of your 10-day itinerary in Portugal.

2nd day 

The second day of your 10-day itinerary through Portugal should be dedicated to getting to know Belém, a more remote neighborhood that has some of the most interesting attractions in the city. start with Discoveries Standard, a monument on the banks of the Tagus River that honors historical figures at the time of their maritime expeditions. Also, walking a little further on, you will see the wonderful Torre de Belém, a Portuguese symbol built in 1514.

Very close to there is the Jerónimos Monastery, an incredible Manueline-style building where figures such as Vasco da Gama and Camões are buried. Finally, be sure to try the original Pastéis de Belém, which are served in a century-old house that has been in operation since 1837. To end the second day, plan a dinner at one of the restaurants in Santo Amaro docks to taste typical dishes based on seafood.

3rd day


Dedicate the morning of the third day of your 10-day itinerary in Portugal to discover the most modern area of the city, Parque das Nações. start with Lisbon Oceanarium, one of the largest aquariums in Europe, which has more than 15,000 animals separated in spaces that recreate their true habitats.

Then continue walking to the Cable car at Parque das Nações. The ride aboard the cable car takes a short time (about 8 minutes), but it is enough to be enchanted by the panoramic view of the river and one of the most upscale neighborhoods in the city. So, take the opportunity to have lunch at some of the restaurants located in this area, such as Senhor Peixe.

In the afternoon, how about dedicating a few hours to shopping? A tip is the Freeport Lisbon Fashion Outlet, which is located in Alcochete, about 20 minutes from Parque das Nações by car. The charming and modern space is open until late and brings together around 150 brands from different segments with interesting discounts for Brazilians.

Those looking for a good location and luxury can stay at Lisbon inn, which is in the middle of Praça do Comércio. The centenary building of this 5-star hotel exudes sophistication and comfort, offering a breathtaking view of the city, in addition to exclusive services and complete suites.

Following a more classic style, but located in a quieter neighborhood of the Portuguese capital, next to the Tagus River, is the eyelash palace, a 5-star hotel set in a restored 19th century palace. An immense garden and pompous environments make the accommodation experience unique.

After an incredible tour of Lisbon, it's time to discover the charming Cascais. The closest beaches to Lisbon are located in the small town, so start with one of them: the Praia da Rainha, whose clear waters will impress you. In addition, close by is the colorful city center, full of charming shops, restaurants and cafes. It is worth wandering around to discover very pleasant places – and enjoy lunch.

After lunch, walk around Cascais Marina, the place where boat trips around the region depart from – if you have time to spare, this tour is worth taking. So enjoy and visit Cascais Citadel, a fortified structure in the city that currently houses shops and museums. The next step is a visit to the Santa Marta Lighthouse Museum, where you can have a panoramic view of the city from the top of the 1868 lighthouse. 

Finally, if you feel like it, go for a walk or rent a bike to go around the seaside at dusk and reach the wonderful Hell's Mouth, which involves strong waves of the sea and immense rocky walls, forming a surreal scenario.

1st day 

The next stage of the trip can be one of the most interesting places to visit in the world and in this 10-day itinerary through Portugal. This is because the city of sintra, very close to Cascais, involves a unique mystical atmosphere. Is it possible to get to know Feel in one day? Yes, but you will certainly miss more than half of the attractions that this beautiful city has to offer – between castles and palaces alone, there are seven places to visit. So it's worth staying a little longer. 

Start your visit at Pena Palace, located in Serra de Sintra, one of the most exotic places you will discover in this 10-day itinerary through Portugal. With its playful colors, the venue designed by King Fernando II features a mix of architectural styles and a beautiful garden. 

Close by is the Moorish Castle, an incredible fortified structure built in the 9th century when the Moors occupied the region. Finally, go down the mountain and go to the Sintra National Palace, which served as the former residence of the Portuguese royal family until the end of the monarchy. Finally, if you have time, have a coffee in the traditional Piriquita Bakery, in the center of the city, and try the famous and delicious “travesseiros” and queijadas.

2nd day 

Wake up early on your second day in Sintra and head towards Serra de Sintra again, this time with a stop at Quinta da Regaleira. This huge space, which served as a residence for many nobles, will occupy an entire morning of your time. Filled with mysterious symbolism and with Gothic architecture – between gardens, lakes, towers and trails – it is there that the mysterious initiation well is located, a construction with a depth of 27 meters that can be covered by a spiral staircase.  

From there, head to the Montserrat Castle, a 19th century mansion with influences of Gothic, Indian and Arabic architecture that brings together several works of art. And finally, go to the Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of continental Europe and offering breathtaking views from the top of giant cliffs – it gets even more beautiful at sunset.

One of the most graceful and interesting points of this 10-day itinerary through Portugal, the village of Óbidos it's passionate. The small fortified village can be explored in just one day on foot, which makes it a typical day trip destination. However, the experience of spending a night in a completely medieval city is super valid.

THE village gate, the very entrance to the city, is an attraction in itself, and displays a beautiful mosaic of tiles from the 18th century. walk through right street, the main one in the city and where the main shops and restaurants are. Due to its extension, detour the way and access places like Santa Maria Church, the main city, built in the twelfth century.

Finally arrive at Óbidos Castle, considered one of the 7 Wonders of Portugal, where today there is a luxury hotel with privileged views of the city and also a restaurant. In addition, to complete the medieval experience, it is worth walking along the stone walls that surround Óbidos for more than 1.5 kilometers.

1st day 

Finally, the last and by no means least interesting destination of this 10-day itinerary through Portugal: the welcoming Harbor. Start by visiting Torre dos Clérigos and its 75 meters high, one of the great baroque icons of the city. In addition, a few steps away is the century-old Livraria Lelloconsidered one of the most beautiful in the world and which, according to rumors, served as the inspiration for the Harry Potter books. 

go to Liberty Square, the most important in the city, and continue along Avenida dos Aliados, passing places such as the traditional Café Guarany, founded in 1933. Sao Bento Railway Station enjoy the immense tile panels that decorate its walls. Then stop at the Cathedral of Porto, which began to be built in the twelfth century. Next to it, there is a beautiful viewpoint with a panoramic view of the entire city.

go to the Stock Exchange Palace and admire its neoclassical architecture. Finally, go down to Cais do Ribeira and enjoy the sunset and the view along the Golden River at one of the many open-air restaurants around the place. 

2nd day 

On your second day in Porto, cross the bridge Luís I Bridge, which will give you a new perspective on the region and beautiful views. go to the Monastery of Serra do Pilar, where there is a wonderful viewpoint to see the city from above. Even if you are not going to visit the Monastery, enjoy and get off at Cable car Vila Nova de Gaia, contemplating the entire riverside area of Porto.

Arriving in Vila Nova de Gaia, at the end of the cable car, take the opportunity to visit the port wine cellars, a tour not to be missed. There are several establishments where it is possible to carry out tastings and take guided tours to better understand the production process of the famous drinks. So, take advantage ofhave lunch there and walk through the streets to discover the incredible manifestations of urban art that color the city's walls.  

3rd day 

on the last day in Harbor and to finish the 10-day itinerary, take the opportunity to go to places you haven't seen in the city yet and also for a quieter schedule. Thus, one option is to walk through the Santa Catarina street, where the Chapel of Souls, which displays a beautiful blue-tiled façade. 

It is also in it that the most beautiful Majestic Cafe, a place frequented by writers and artists from Porto in the 20th century. In addition, Rua Santa Catarina is one of the main shopping centers in the city, so it offers several stores, brands and shopping options for all tastes – ideal for taking that souvenir back home. If you prefer, you can also dedicate this third day to a day trip to nearby cities such as Guimarães, Braga and Aveiro.
