The Jijoca de Jericoacoara City Council has just approved a readjustment in the village's sustainable tourism and outdoor parking tax.
The offsite parking fee, currently R$ 20 per day, will change to R$ 40 per day per vehicle. The sustainable tourism tax, currently at R$ 5 per day, has a single rate of R$ 30, which allows tourists to stay in the village for up to seven days. The visitor who stays only one day in the villa will pay the same amount of R$ 30.

The new values may take effect on January 1, 2021, but the city hall will still determine the date.
The readjustments were requested by the Secretary of Tourism of the State of Ceará (Setur) as a way to better manage visits and finance the infrastructure necessary for the common good of residents and tourists.
