Portugal won 15 awards from the World Travel Awards, a kind of “Tourism Oscar”

Lisbon has just won for the second time in a row the award for “best destination in the world“, in the 25th edition of the World Travel Awards, considered the Oscar of Tourism, in a ceremony held on December 1, in the Portuguese capital.

The city has been pleasing more and more tourists and stood out in two other categories of the award: “Best City for Tourism” and “Best City Break”. In addition, the country's tourism agency was considered the "Best Official Tourism Agency in the World" and the portal visitportugal.com repeated the feat of 2017, being elected again the “Best Official Tourism Website”.

The World Travel Awards is the most important tourism award in the world, annually highlighting the best destinations and companies in the trade. The award highlights several categories in the sector, such as “Best Airline”, “Best Hotel”, “Best Cruise”, among others.
