Army Historical Museum and Fort of Copacabana

THE museum works in the preservation, safeguard and dissemination of the historical memory of the Brazilian Army. Located in the historic Fort of Copacabana. The long-term exhibitions present the history of Brazil narrated from the point of view of military history. Visitors can also get to know the Fortification, a unique project in South America, in the form of a pillbox in which it was possible to stay for a long period without external assistance.

Villa Lobos Museum

THE Museum Villa-Lobos preserves and disseminates the work of Heitor Villa-Lobos through the custody, research and exhibition of the representative collection of his life and work, including countless scores, documents and personal objects of the maestro.

Rui Barbosa House Museum

The house was built by a baron of the Second Reign, at the time of D.Pedro II, in the middle of the 19th century. At the end of the same century, Rui Barbosa acquired the house and lived there for many years. Surrounded by beautiful gardens and rich period furniture, it is a testament to the style of living of the nobility and aristocracy of the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Banco do Brasil Cultural Center (CCBB)

An exhibition space, a forum for debates and a multimedia stage, the CCBB has been a center of reference for cultural activities in downtown Rio de Janeiro. The CCBB houses spaces for diversified cultural activities, such as the permanent exhibitions “O Banco do Brasil e sua História”.

Moreira Salles Institute

Museum of Modern Art (MAM)

The Museum of Modern Art of Rio de Janeiro has as its mission the preservation, reflection and dissemination of the production of modern and contemporary arts at a national and international level, through exhibitions of its collection, publications and loans of works.

Indian Museum

Linked to the National Indian Foundation (Funai), the Indian Museum's mission is to preserve, research and disseminate the cultural heritage of the 270 groups that make up contemporary indigenous societies living in Brazil.

Republic Museum

The Museum of the Republic's mission is to preserve, investigate and communicate the testimonies linked to the history of the Brazilian Republic. Upon entering the palace, start at the gallery that explains the history of its construction and lists the 16 presidents of the Republic who worked here between 1897 and 1960.
