Considered an example in the fight against coronavirus, New Zealand today recorded zero cases of infection by covid-19
THE New Zealand showed an example in fighting the coronavirus pandemic and its actions have flattened the contagion curve in the country. This Monday (4) the country recorded zero cases of infection by covid-19. Until then, only on March 16, eight days before the country enacted a lockdown, no infected citizen had been registered.
The New Zealand Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, had already announced last week that there were no more records of local contagions of coronavirus. However, despite starting to loosen the quarantine, the warning is for the population to remain attentive and following the rules of distancing to maintain positive results.
“Any gain seen at this moment is the merit of the lockdown period”, declared the minister, according to an article published in Exame Magazine. New Zealand had 1,487 confirmed cases and only 20 deaths, out of a total of 4.886 million inhabitants.
