The only capital in the Northeast that does not have a coastline, Teresina it is on the banks of two important rivers, the Parnaíba and the Poty. The green areas are important tourist attractions in the city, which has beautiful environmental parks, such as the Meeting of the Waters and Lagoas do Norte, with areas for sport and leisure.

The city exposes leafy trees along its streets, squares, avenues and backyards, maintaining the title of “Green City”. It is fig trees, oitize trees, mango trees and acacias that soften the heat brought by its low altitude. In the months of September to December the heat is intense, but in the first semester the temperature is pleasant, especially at night and early in the morning.

Due to the absence of the sea, the city has developed its nightlife a lot, with countless options of shows, musical performances, theater, cinema and nightclubs, highlighting a typical cuisine with an unparalleled flavor. That's how the events multiplied and today the city hosts several fairs, congresses and conventions in the month, many of national and international character.

on an afternoon in Teresina it is possible to see the main buildings of the city in a pleasant walk through the center. When shopping, the Handicraft Center, located in Praça Pedro II, has wooden objects such as saints and bags and other dining utensils made from buriti fibers.

Another point worth exploring is the regional cuisine, which carries well-seasoned and tasty dishes such as guinea fowl, rice with minced jerky, jerked meat with flour and pestle and fish dipped in coconut milk and sweet potatoes. To refresh, a well-chilled carbonated cashew juice known as “cajuína” or other exotic juices such as murici are a great choice.
