Visit the colorful Bahian village that mixes river and sea on its beaches and is a legacy of Portuguese colonization.

trancoso is a charming village located on the south coast of Bahia, 47 km from safe harbor, and was discovered by tourists recently as it started to receive electricity only in the 1970s, even though it was founded by the Portuguese in the 16th century. Here the traveler finds from trendy beaches to hidden refuges at the end of long trails through native forest.

Nature was generous and the locals are committed to maintaining all the beauty of the region with the creation of preserved areas, which ends up offering different options to visitors such as: taking a speedboat ride through the mangroves of Praia dos Nativos, enjoy the natural pools created by the river da Barra, discover the spawning space of sea turtles in Ponta de Itaquena, and find the Itapororoca beach after 1h30 of walking, which makes it the calmest in the region and perfect for those who want to relax and enjoy the sound of the waves.

At dusk, attention turns to the city center, where the São Joaquim Square, call of Square, which concentrates restaurants, bars and shops. Another activity in this square, surrounded by colorful houses, is to honor the works of local artists at Galeria Fulô. For those who like to enjoy the night with lots of dancing, some options are the traditional forró at São Brás and the electronic music at the Fly Beach Club.

When you're packing, don't forget the repellent because the mosquito nets spread over the windows and doors of the houses won't be enough to stop the intruding insects.
