A British tech company is developing futuristic airplane prototypes

Disputes over seats in airplane windows may be out of date, at least that's what the experiments carried out by the Process Innovation Center, a British company about to revolutionize the aviation market with the creation of airplanes with a panoramic view of the sky.

Will this be the future of air travel? If everything goes as expected, in a maximum of 15 years it will be possible to fly seeing everything that happens outside, even for those who sit in the middle rows or in the aisle, thanks to OLED technology.

The technology behind panoramic planes

No, planes with panoramic views will not be equipped with a single huge window. Quite the contrary: it will simply not have side windows or even a “roof”, which makes it possible for literally everything around it to be outside to be seen.

The solution? simple: sIts walls will be covered with OLED technology applied to touch-sensitive screens linked to dozens of external cameras. When activated, these screens faithfully reproduce the landscape and, if passengers get tired of what they are seeing, they can also use them for other entertainment activities.

OLED, in turn, is nothing more than an Organic Light Emitting Diode, which unites organic compounds, light projection and electrical currents to allow simple things to work perfectly, such as tablets and televisions, and that previously unimaginable things, such as airplanes. with a panoramic view of the sky, can become reality.

Is there a downside?

It was hypothesized that the amount of light received could be uncomfortable and that, because they do not have real windows, planes with panoramic views could cause claustrophobia, but do you doubt that flights will become much more attractive in a few years? Airlines are already interested in the novelty and are betting heavily on the savings generated and the benefits acquired for all.
