Rua do Bom Jesus was the only Brazilian street on the list, behind only Setenil de Las Bodegas, in Spain, and Washington Street in New York. The North American vehicle highlighted details of the architecture present on the street. Among them is the first synagogue in the Americas, Kahal Zur Israel.
The street is considered the oldest in Recife and was named after the Bom Jesus arch, the old gateway to the city. “Since the time of the Dutch occupation, the Bom Jesus Street it was the most important in the Recife neighborhood.
