São Paulo may host the largest open-air graffiti museum in Brazil: artists are creating 12 panels on buildings in the Largo da Batata region

Sao Paulo may soon have the largest open-air graffiti museum in Brazil. This is because the surroundings of Largo da Batatak, in the west side of the capital, is getting more colorful. Fifteen artists, including national and international names, are producing twelve works of graffiti on buildings in the region.

These more than 3689 m² of art, which should be ready by August 20, will be able to transform the space into an open-air graffiti museum. The works are part of the 1st edition of the NaLata International Art Festival, whose objective is to make São Paulo the world capital of graffiti.

The intention is to democratize access to art, as graffiti can be seen and enjoyed by everyone for free, whether pedestrians, bus passengers or residents of the region.

According to G1 website, the festival is organized by Agência InHaus and curated by Luan Cardoso, in addition to the presence of Brazilian artists such as Alex Senna, Enivo, Evol, Marcelo Eco, Mari Mats, Mateus Bailon, Pri Barbosa and Rafael Sliks. Also participating in the event are the Colombian muralist Gleo and the Mexican muralist Paola Delfín, who bring in their works the proposal to create social awareness.
