Vacation in paradise: a trip through the beaches of Búzios, Arraial do Cabo and Cabo Frio

The famous Lakes Region it concentrates charming tourist resorts, located in the northern region of the coast of Rio de Janeiro, famous for its waters in shades of blue.

Búzios, Arraial do Cabo and Cabo Frio, are the three most famous municipalities of this tourist route, and are surrounded by lagoons and paradisiacal beaches with incredible shades of blue, which gave rise to the name of the region in honor of these beautiful crystalline slopes. The Lagos region is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating national tourist itineraries when it comes to sun and beach.

Cities in the Lagos Region

the beaches of Cable camp are the most impressive. Probably because of the privileged geography, located on a peninsula that leaves the city practically in the ocean, and because of the sands that are also finer and whiter than the other beaches in the Lagos Region, making the sea even bluer.

Búzios it is extremely touristy and offers excellent options for shops, restaurants, bars, inns and luxury hotels. The city is the fifth most wanted destination of the country and became world-renowned about 50 years ago, when at the height of her career, actress and film muse Brigitte Bardot, found in the quiet fishing village, a quiet resort to escape the spotlight of the Carioca press. At that time, Búzios was on the covers of newspapers and magazines all over the world: everyone wanted to know more news about that destination, which until then was totally unknown.

Today the city is very different from the town that Brigitte knew, but it still attracts tourists who want to know the quiet beaches that welcomed the muse of cinema.

Cabo Frio it is the largest of the three cities and also offers different options for restaurants, hotels, inns and shops. This is the one that most has the face and structure of a “big city”; with supermarkets, hospitals, schools and college. Many tourists choose to stay in Cabo Frio because of the location, precisely because it is in the middle of the other two municipalities, which makes it easier to get to know the other attractions in the region. In the city, the most visited spots are Ilha dos Japonês, Praia do Forte and Praia das Conchas.

boat trips

Boat trips are also an excellent way to see cities from a different angle. In Arraial do Cabo, the stops along the way allow diving in the high seas and hiking in a conservation area. In addition, companies offer drinks and snacks on board, with visits to the city's beaches.

These tours depart from the main port and usually have daily departures depending on weather conditions. All vessels follow the same route, changing only the schedules to avoid overcrowding at attractions. Búzios and Cabo Frio also offer nautical tours, which carry out a kind of beach tour, with quick stops at the main beaches in the cities.

what to do at night

Tourists staying in Cable camp and seek to have fun at night, usually enjoy the nightlife of the neighboring city Cabo Frio, which offers more options for bars, nightclubs, parties and nightlife.

Because it's a small town, Cable camp still lacks structure to receive the amount of tourists who have visited the destination. E This flow has increased more and more in recent years, but even on weekends, the neighborhoods still maintain a quiet inner city atmosphere without much movement.

The destination was also known as the Brazilian diving capital. Every year hundreds of professional and beginner divers come to the destination to observe the rich marine life found on the coast of the city. Whales, dolphins, turtles and rare fish sightings are common, which makes the city a full plate for deep-sea lovers.
