Named “Online Experiences”, the platform offers classes and activities through videoconferencing

The seasonal hosting platform Airbnb today launched a channel that offers online experiences. The idea is to make people travel, enjoying various possibilities of classes around the world, without leaving their homes.

The initiative is an alternative that the tool found for users to have an extra income during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, since in-person experiences are suspended until the end of April.

christened "Online Experiences” the new space offers classes and activities through a videoconferencing application. In this first phase, more than 50 video options are available with activities that bring people together culturally.

THE virtual space allows, for example, to accompany a tango concert with Latin Grammy nominees, learn to cook different mexican salsas, teach children secrets and magic tricks or learn new meditation techniques.

In addition, there are also experiences for sports enthusiasts. Classes with Olympic medalists, virtual bike rides, workouts and nutrition tips are among the options offered. “We want to provide an opportunity for hosts and guests to connect in the only way possible right now: online,” he said. The new platform does not yet offer experiences in Brazil. However, Brazilians can participate in the options offered by hosts from other countries.
