When walking through Vila Capivari you will understand why the city is known as Brazilian Switzerland. The small village resembles a small European interior, surrounded by buildings built with influence of European architecture. It is there that some of the main hotels, restaurants and shopping centers in the destination are located.

Boa Vista Palace

The imposing building is the residence of the Governor of the state of São Paulo and houses a museum with antiques and different works by national and foreign artists. The palace has 105 rooms and has rich furniture from the 17th and 18th centuries.

Itapeva Peak

With its 2,030 meters of altitude, Pico do Itapeva provides one of the most fascinating views of the Serra da Mantiqueira region. From the place it is possible to see 15 cities spread over the Vale do Paraíba. The place also offers other tour options, where the more adventurous will find a lot of adrenaline on horseback, motorcycle, bicycle rides or even a healthy walk along the trails available near the attraction.

Chinese view

Vista Chinesa is one of the mandatory points to visit when arriving in the city. The viewpoint is located on SP 123 a few kilometers from the city portal. The place has a great view of the Lageado Valley.

Cable car and railway

One of the most sought after attractions by visitors who pass through Campos do Jordão, the cable car is a great alternative for tourists to discover the beauties of Serra da Mantiqueira. The architecture of the railway has remained unchanged since 1910 and passes through the main towns of the city: Capivari, Jaguaribe and Abernéssia, on a 4-kilometer route.

The space has hundreds of species of plants divided into more than 22 spaces inspired by 12 different countries, displaying beautiful gardens from different parts of the world.

Elephant Hill and Cable Car

Morro do Elefante is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city. The mountain, which has a silhouette in the shape of an elephant's trunk, has a wonderful view of the city of Campos de Jordão and access to the tourist spot can be done in two ways: by road or by cable car.

By car

For those leaving the capital of São Paulo, the main access is via the Presidente Dutra Highway. When you reach km 118, take SP-123, the road that gives access to Campos do Jordão. The distance between the two cities is approximately 167 km.

Those departing from the city of Rio de Janeiro need to take the Presidente Dutra Highway until km 117. The point is a little after the municipality of Taubaté, where there is an exit to the Floriano Pinheiro Highway (SP-123) that leads to the destination.

From Belo Horizonte to Campos do Jordão, the visitor will travel 582 km via Fernão Dias Highway. When you arrive in the city of Pouso Alegre, take Rodovia MG-295 and head towards São Bento do Sapucaí. From there, just take the SP-42 and then follow the SP-50, which leads to Campos do Jordão.

By bus

The main company that makes the route from São Paulo is brown bird which offers several schedules with buses that leave directly from the Tietê Terminal. The company also has other lines for Campos do Jordão leaving Campinas, São José dos Campos and 10 other municipalities in the state of Sao Paulo.

If you intend to leave Rio de Janeiro or city nearby, the buses offered for the journey are on account of the Autoviation 1001 and for Three friends.

By airplane

The city does not have an airport. The closest one to receive regular flights is Guarulhos. Guarulhos airport (Cumbica) is close to the exit that gives access to Campos do Jordão. From there it is approximately 150 km away (2h15 by car).

By train

This is undoubtedly the most fun option to get to Campos de Jordão. The rail access is made in the city of Pindamonhangaba, and passes through several points that show all the beauty of the region. Among them are the Águas Claras Park and the Santo Antônio do Pinhal station. Then the train slowly goes up the Serra da Mantiqueira until it reaches its destination.

The cold is undoubtedly one of the biggest invitations to visit the city, so the winter season is the most visited by tourists.

Campos do Jordão has its peak of activity during the Winter Festival, which takes place during the month of July. This is the coldest time in the city and the city promotes even more leisure options for those visiting the destination.
