The trail Paths of the Sea, which runs along the well-known Estrada Velha de Santos (SP-148), starting in São Bernardo do Campo, has reopened for visitors. However, a series of restrictions were defined for those who want to take the 9-kilometer walk (one-way) through the Serra do Mar.

Among the attractions available for those who take the walk along the Estrada Velha de Santos trail, or Caminho do Mar, are areas of native vegetation of the Atlantic Forest and the famous Calçada do Lorena – stone road built by engineers on an old mule track where Dom Pedro I climbed the mountains. In addition, there are monuments erected almost 100 years ago and incredible viewpoints overlooking the sea.

It is important to note that the place does not have snack bars or restaurants. Therefore, it is necessary to bring snacks and lots of water to do the trail. In addition, comfortable clothes and shoes are also recommended. The complete route usually takes approximately 5 hours of walking.
