Tomato Bruschetta – Italy

  • Italian bread
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • cherry tomatoes or chopped tomatoes
  • basil
  • grated Parmesan
  • olive oil
  • Black pepper

Preparation

Bruschetta is one of the most traditional recipes in Italy. Cut the Italian bread into thick slices, running the peeled garlic over them. Spread the grated Parmesan cheese over the bread and then place the tomatoes on top. Sprinkle salt, black pepper, put fresh basil leaves. Drizzle with a drizzle of olive oil and place in the oven to brown lightly. The recipe goes perfectly with a wine to pair with.

Preparation

  • 300g of beef or chicken
  • soy sauce to taste
  • 1 large onion cut into pieces
  • 2 cups of cooked rice
  • 2 scrambled eggs
  • olive oil
  • ginger, garlic and spices to taste

Preparation

This is one of the tastiest recipes in Peru. Cut the meat or chicken into small pieces and let it marinate in the soy sauce. Sauté the scrambled eggs with the onion and other seasonings. Toss the meat to sauté along with this mixture. Finally, add the rice, add a little more soy sauce and that's it. If you want, you can also include seafood, such as shrimp.

Churros – Spain

  • 500 ml of water
  • 1 cup of wheat flour
  • 20g unsalted butter
  • refined sugar to taste
  • Cinnamon powder to taste
  • Frying oil
  • Milk cream

Preparation

In a large saucepan, combine the water, salt and butter. When it boils, add the wheat flour all at once and use a fouet to stir as quickly as possible. The dough is very soft, put it in a pastry sleeve with a medium nozzle (as thick as you want your churros). In a frying pan with hot oil, cook until the dough is golden. Pass the sugar, cinnamon and, finally, the dulce de leche.

  • 1 cup and a half of wheat flour
  • 1 spoon of sugar
  • 3 spoons of powdered yeast
  • 2 eggs lightly beaten
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 2 spoons of melted butter
  • oil

Preparation

Mix the flour, sugar, yeast and salt. In a separate bowl, mix the eggs, milk and butter. Add the liquids to the dry ones little by little – the dough should not be too liquid. Grease a skillet with oil and add 1/4 cup at a time. Don't forget to brown the dough on both sides. You can include toppings such as whipped cream, honey, strawberry syrup, chocolate, among others.

Onion soup – France

  • 8 large sliced onions
  • 2 spoons of butter
  • 1 tablespoon of garlic
  • 2 spoons of olive oil
  • 1 cup of white wine
  • 2 spoons of wheat flour
  • 2 beef stocks dissolved in 1 liter of hot water
  • salt, pepper and nutmeg
  • half a kilo of fresh and grated Gruyere cheese
  • 1 baguette

Preparation

Onion soup is one of France's most classic recipes. In a pan, add the oil and sauté the onions over low heat. When they are golden, add the wine, butter, nutmeg and other seasonings to taste. Then add the wine and flour. After 5 minutes, add the water to the broth and let it cook for 5 minutes. Put the cheese last. Cut the baguette into thick slices and serve with the soup.

Qumbe – Somalia

  • 2 cups unsweetened dry shredded coconut
  • Half cup of coconut milk
  • One and a half cups of granulated sugar
  • half cup of milk
  • 1/4 cup of wheat flour
  • Grated Coconut for Sprinkling

Preparation

Hydrate the coconut with the coconut milk and set aside. Put the sugar in a pan and heat until it melts and is burnt, caramel color. Add the hydrated coconut, milk and wheat flour, stirring for 5 minutes. When cool, make balls and wrap the grated coconut to decorate.

Empanadas – Argentina

  • Half a kilo of wheat flour
  • 100 g of pork lard
  • 200 ml of warm water
  • salt to taste
  • 1 clear
  • 1 yolk
  • The filling can be whatever you prefer: cheese, meat, chicken, etc.
Preparation

Mix the wheat flour and lard. In another bowl, put the warm water, salt and mix. Mix well until it forms a dough and then wait for 10 minutes. Make small balls with the dough, forming discs. Put the stuffing of your choice and close the dough, using your fingertips. Brush with egg yolk and bake in a preheated oven at 220 degrees until golden.

Preparation

Beat the egg whites and sugar in the mixer until it reaches the consistency of meringue. Turn off and add the cornstarch, apple cider vinegar and vanilla, stirring gently. Grease a round baking dish with margarine, place parchment paper and butter again on top. Pour the mixture and take it to 180ºC in the oven until golden. Let cool inside the oven. Whip the whipped cream with vanilla, remove the meringue from the oven and place on top. Decorate with the fruits of your choice and refrigerate.
