city tour

Is there a more relaxed way to discover a new city than riding a bike? Ushuaia is fairly small and can be visited in a short time of pedaling. Start the tour on Av. San Martín and tour some of Ushuaia's neighborhoods. You can pass by the coast of Costaneira, the Lagoa del Diablo and the beaches on the west side of the coast.

Tunel Resort

To get to the Tunel resort, you need to head towards the entrance to the city, next to the edge of Ushauia. During the tour, the cyclist is always accompanied by the landscape in shades of blue that the Beagle Channel offers.

The tip is to take a breath at Praia Larga, the longest stretch of sand in the city, which almost always receives visits from sea lions and is constantly decorated with small flocks of birds that live close to the coast.

Then the dirt road will take you in a few kilometers to a wooden door, where the estancia is. In this stretch you can choose to leave the bike and continue walking on a closed forest trail.

Bride's Veil Waterfall

The Cascada Velo de la Novia is a well-known attraction among the locals of Ushuaia and little publicized by agencies because it is a tour that can be done autonomously. Access to the waterfall is 10 km from the city center to the entrance of the short trail. The path starts very close to Ruta Nacional 3, after crossing a small point on the Olivia River.

Along the way, you can take a break, contemplating the woods around the road and some points that offer a good view of Mount Olivia.

Tierra del Fuego National Park

The park has a large area of approximately 68,000 hectares that can be explored through Ruta 3. The entrance to the Tierra del Fuego National Park is just before the end of the road that starts in Buenos Aires to Ushuaia. You can get to know the precise point where Ruta 3 ends and take a delightful walk on the beaches of Bahia Lapataia.

The path must be taken calmly to enjoy the attractions of the national park, which includes beautiful landscapes with mountains, valleys, rivers, lakes and beaches.

Lake Escondido and Fagnano

This path is an option for more experienced people with good physical resistance. Lake Fagnano is the last point of this adventure and is almost 100 km from the city, but there is the possibility of going only to a viewpoint at km 58 with a view of both attractions.

Those who complete the 100 km marathon can stay in the beautiful town of Tolhuin, located on the shores of Lake Fagnano, and return to Ushuaia the next day.

Bike rental in Ushuaia

Some local companies offer bike and equipment rentals for this adventurous profile. Located at Av. San Martin, the agency Ushuaia Extremo is one of them. There are different bike options to ride in the mountains, in the city or even adapted for snow. With all the accessories available, embarking on a bike tour through the city can be a different way to discover Ushuaia's sights independently and in complete safety.

The company also offers equipment for skiing and snowboarding during the winter, with boots prepared to withstand the low temperatures of the season, in addition to footwear appropriate for these activities and staples for walking on ice. Like the idea?
