Check out Miami tips selected by a dad who lives there and loves to enjoy the city with his young daughters

Miami is a destination on the east coast of the United States that is already among the darlings of Brazilians. Adults love the city to enjoy the trendy beaches, themed restaurants and shopping – lots of shopping – but the little ones also have plenty of options to have fun. Daniel Ickowicz, director of Elite International Realty, lives in Miami, has two young daughters who never tire of enjoying the city. For those traveling with children, Daniel has put together some tips for the perfect trips that the little ones will love. Check out some of these tips on things to do in Miami with kids and teenagers:

– Lummus Park: this space is on the edge of one of the best beaches in Miami, which bears the same name. Here families usually spend the day lounging among the coconut trees, cycling and playing in the water and on the playground.

– Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden: the botanical garden has more than 3 thousand species of plants and offers guided tours for those who want more information, but the favorite attraction for children is the hundreds of butterflies that circulate there.

– Venetian Pools: children over 3 years old can enjoy pools and waterfalls that are surrounded by trees. The site opened in 1924 and is located in the town of Coral Gables.

– Flamingo Park: one of the kids favorite places! In addition to spending the day having fun playing sports and swimming in the pools with playground, this park has an area full of flamingos!

– Zoo Miami: the oldest zoo in the United States and the largest in Florida! There are more than 2,000 animals, including some quite exotic, such as white tigers and bears. What stands out the most is the fact that we can interact with the animals by feeding and getting very close. All this in the midst of beautiful gardens, swimming pools and water fountains.

– Jungle Island: the complex has swimming pools and restaurants, but the favorite attractions for the little ones are the ones with animals. Here they can see small shows and interact with the animals, as well as go down a zip line that gives a beautiful view of the park.

– Lion Country Safari: about 130 km from Miami is this park that has a slightly different proposal from a zoo, since most of the animals are free. The tour is done in your own car and there is plenty of guidance, including a CD with all the safety information, to make the most of your visit. Although most animals are outdoors, there are also species that are trapped like lions, for safety reasons. After the circuit, it is worth stopping at the park, with toys and interaction with the animals. To finish the tour, it is also worth taking advantage of the mini water park, with swimming pools and other attractions.

– Miami Children's Museum: Interaction is the keyword here! The museum is entirely dedicated to the little ones and there they can let their imaginations run wild and spend a lot of energy, drawing, painting and having fun with toys. The spaces are divided by themes, such as Kidscape Village, a small town with common items in our daily lives, with banks, supermarkets, shops, hospital and police station. In another area is an aquarium that also teaches children to preserve marine species.

– Miami Seaquarium: this is the largest aquarium in Florida and the oldest in the country, built in 1955. Located inside Key Biscayne in Miami, it allows the observation of many species, such as whales, alligators and the beloved dolphins. In addition, some animal shows are held throughout the day, such as at Sea World in Orlando.

– Frost Science Museum: state-of-the-art planetarium, it has a giant aquarium and very advanced technology, such as 3D in 8K. The museum explains about the marine life of South Florida, a subject also explored in the three-story aquarium, and the main message is the preservation of species that live in the sea and their importance to our ecosystem. The complex covers about 23 thousand square meters, five floors and is in the center of the city. There is parking and it is very close to the Museum Park tube station.
