With flights canceled and borders closed, Brazilian tourists are unable to leave Peru, sleeping at the airport

At least 60 Brazilian tourists traveling to Peru are unable to leave the country. The situation arises as a result of the closing country borders, announced by the Peruvian government last Sunday (15), to contain the spread of the coronavirus. With flights canceled, Brazilians have also not been able to even book nights in hotels in Peruvian cities, as they are all closed.

So, on Sunday, some of them had to sleep at the airport at Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport in Cusco, so as not to be on the streets. To the G1 website, some travelers reported that they looked for alternatives, but were unable to. “Some want to rent buses to go to Acre, but they are saying that it is super dangerous, that it is better to wait 15 days here. Only not the Latam, nor does anyone offer a help, a lunch, a hotel. They are even talking about chartering a plane,” Camila Teixeira, from Ceará, told the report.
